Construction began in December 2008 with a OSB board(2,95/1.25m) and some lines on it...

The initial plan looked like this...

First thing i did was to built a table/ It was build in 2 segments, for easy transportation. The feet are 1 m tall. Also i placed a 5cm polystyrene base on the OSB plate, because i wanted to have a small river.

After much debate i decided i wanted a turntable on the layout. Because it didn't fit i had to install am small extension to the original plan, 30 cm long. I modified the plan accordingly. In this stage i also divided the plan in Blocks and put the signals on the plan.

The extension console and how the layout looked in march 2009

The back part of the layout was planned to be in a hill, to hide that awful oval, and give a sense of a long track(if i made the tracks paralleled to the table, it's the least i could do to save some visual effect). Initially i wanted to put a second line inside the mountain where a train could stay and another one would come out of the tunnel, but the line was to short so i had it removed. Next are some more pictures with different stages of work up to this day...

Last winter, because from the lack of grass it looked ugly, i decided to try a small winter landscaping...this is the result with flower for snow...

After the snow melted, the grass began to grow. I know it is a little dark, i don't like the bright grass color...it doesn't look real to me...i prefer a dark gloomy view...

And a small general view...

And some last pictures, with the begging of the detail phase...

I know that that white tracks is ugly, i am going to vacuum it out, it was only a test... Any suggestions are welcomed.
Next topic will be about the layout our club started building at the Modelleisehnbahn factory(As you know Roco and Flm models are produced in Arad, I even worked there during the summer)
All the best!
