Repair train - Angus
Railway repair depot, Western Front, during World War I. This photograph shows a railway depot. A mobile workshop train is standing on what appears to be a narrow-gauge track, with stabilising 'legs' to hold the wagons steady when the workshop was in use. Soldiers are standing in the train and two men in work clothes and broad-brimmed hats (possibly Australian) are on the tracks.
Constant repair and maintenance of the railway stock was essential in order to keep supplies moving.
